Sport industry is an important part of modern service as well as significant carrier of new economic growth and employment. It is widely acknowledged that sport industry is the most active one in the 21st century. Or it can be regarded as the sunrise, health and green industry with characteristics of high permeability, overlap and pulling.

Sport industry is the mainstay industry for developed countries. Its annual output value ranks top 10 in North America, West Europe and Japan. Even though history of sport industry is less than one hundred years, its development speed has far exceeded other industries with an annual growth of more than 20%. At present, output value of global sport industry is about 400 billion USD. China sport industry is in its babyhood. Proportion of the output value to GDP is less than 1% and nearly 10 times less than Euro-American developed countries. Under the environment of China macroeconomic well development, per capital income and leisure time is increasing and sport consumption is upgrading. Together with the issued Guidance of Accelerating Sport Industry, there will be a golden development stage fro China sport industry.

With more than 20 years experience of marketization, there is a relatively fast development of scale process for China sport industry. As the beginning year of the “twelfth five years” plan, sport industry shows a boom in 2011: sponsorship revenue of the 26th Summer Universiade reaches 1.227 billion RMB; the 2011 Super Coppa Italiana attracts about 80,000 to the “bird nest building” with a ticket revenue of more than one hundred million Yuan. Meanwhile, professional competitions like China Professional Soccer League, the CBA and Table Tennis Super League is more and more matured by more than 10 years development. In the aspect of sports lotteries, as an important welfare part, nationwide sales volume of sports lotteries in 2011 reaches 93.7 billion Yuan which increases 24.3 billion Yuan and with a growth of 35%. All these show a good development prospect for China sport industry.
