According to statistics from Photon International, the output of global photovoltaic solar battery in 2010 was 27.2GW, up 118%, which was the peak during past 12 years. The global productivity in 2010 was about 37GW with a utilization rate of 74.5%.
The production bases of top 10 manufacturers are located in Asia. Consequently, Asia has become the center of photovoltaic production. Among which the market share in China grows rapidly while that in Europe and Japan decreases gradually. China’s market share in 2009 was about 38.1% which was about 5GW, and it increased to 47.8% which was about 13GW in 2010. Germany’s market share decreased from 15.4% (1.8GW) to 9.8% (2.7GW) while Japan’s market share decreased from 12.4% (1.5GW) to 8.5% (2.3GW).

It will not only replace some regular energy, but also will become the major energy supply in the world.
Europe JRC predicts that the proportion of renewable energy to total energy structure by 2030 will be over 30% while it will be over 50% by 2040, and over 80% at the end of the 21st century. And the proportion of solar photovoltaic power generation to global total power supply will be over 10% by 2030 while it will be over 20% by 2040 and 60% at the end of the 21st century.
