Current these years with the explosive growth of Internet and promotion of new telecom business, China’s IDC market scale keeps an annual growth rate of over 30% that has broke through 10 billion Yuan and reached 10.22 billion Yuan by 2010.
View from the business development, the IDC basic business is still the major revenue source (which accounts for over 71%) for IDC corporations. Meanwhile, the IDC added value business maintains a relatively fast growing trend that the market scale reaches 2.91 billion Yuan by 2010. The IDC added value business is turning to be the key point of competitiveness in differentiation for IDC corporations. The prospects are booming and optimistic.
View from the industry competitive landscape the current industry leaders of telecom operators are China Telecom and China Unicom who take a market share of more than 60%. The private IDC corporations are in the adherent position that they need to purchase bandwidth and rent the computer rooms as well as wire-ways to operate business. Few of them establish computer rooms by themselves to operate business. The development strategy of telecom operators has a direct impact on private IDC corporations. After the publishment of overall plan for tri-network integration, the radio and television operators gain a chance to enter the field. The competition between radio and television operators and telecom operators still not yet confirms. The successful list of the private IDC corporation, 21Vianet Group, together with the involvement of capital force, the competitive landscape of the industry is alive with variable and indetermination.
View from the industry development trend, the influence of cloud computing is significant and undoubted. The cloud computing is changing the traditional IDC in the aspects of construction model, users’ behavior, business model, and bearers networks. In the meantime, the cloud computing with considerable achievement in solving the original existing problems during the IDC development. The future IDC business may gradually transfer from selling resources to selling services.
