In 2011, the area of Beijing’s new shopping mall is 1.348 million square meters while it is 0.471 million square meters for department stores and outlets. The supply area of shopping mall decreases comparing with that in 2010 but maintains a general ratio of above 70%. The new supply area of shopping mall in Guangzhou is about 0.388 million square meters in 2011 while the year-round average vacancy rate declines 0.5%; the monthly rent in the fourth season is 757.7 Yuan/square meter, up 6.51%. In 2011, the area of shopping mall or department stores which go into new operation in Shanghai is 1.13 million square meters with a year-on-year growth rate of 25%. Among which the new shopping mall’s area is about 0.455 million square meters. And most of the shopping malls concentrate in the areas between inner ring and outer ring, or beyond outer ring.
