In 2011, China automobile market showed a steady growth trend. The monthly production and sales volume exceeded 1.2 million. The average monthly production and sales volume broke through 1.5 million. The dissembling level of most ELV recycling and dissembling enterprises is relatively low, the dissembling methods are relatively original, and the dissembling equipment and supporting facilities are relatively backward. Most enterprises mostly depend on manual dissembling, and the size effect of ELV dissembling industry has not shown up yet. Up to the end of 2010, there were 516 ELV recycling and dissembling enterprises with qualification, more than 2,000 recycling nets, and more than 30,000 employees in the nationwide. In 2010, China’s automobile cancellation of registration volume reached 3.642 million, with a year-on-year increase of 64.77%, and the cancellation of registration volume accounted for 4% of automobile inventory volume. The national dissembling enterprises with qualification recycled 1.4787 million vehicles, accounting for 40.6% of cancellation of registration volume, with a year-on-year increase of 64.77%.

Generally speaking, an ordinary car’s service life is 10-13 years. Globally, the automobile recycling industry is in an “uprising stage”. 90% of auto steel and non-ferrous parts can be recycled and used again, which can save 60% of energy, 70% of materials and more than 50% of costs. Via recycling and re-utilizing, the cost of the motor, with the basically same market price, is 50% of the new motor. Moreover, the recycling rate of glass and plastics can both reach more than 50%.

Nowadays, China needs import a large number of aluminum alloy waste from overseas, to produce the aluminum alloy for which the automobile industry asks. In 2010, China imported 2.85 million tons waste aluminum alloy, most of which had been used in the automobile industry. From now on, with the yearly increasing of China automobile inventory, recycling the aluminum alloy parts from discarded vehicles, and utilizing these resources will be major work for ELV recycling and dissembling industry.
