The annual total output of automotive was 18.418876 million in 2011, with a year-on-year increase of 0.84%; the accumulative sales volume was 18.533426, with a year-on-year increase of 2.7%. After a robust growth of China automotive market in 2010, both the international and domestic automotive brands regard China's market as a big cake. Therefore, they launched a new round of competition to compete for more market shares. Either Medium-term Planning of International Automotive Brands, or Five Strategic Planning of Domestic Automotive Groups unexceptionally meet the demand for government's "Twelfth Five-year" Plan. The total sales target of six state-owned auto groups, including FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng Motor Group, Changan, GAIG, and BAI in 2015 is above 28 million vehicles. And the total production and marketing target of six self-owned brands, including JAC, Chery, Geely, BYD, Great Wall and Brilliance in 2015 is approximately 12 million vehicles. It's predicted only by their target, the sales volume of China's automobile will reach 40 million.

The automotive aftermarket is known as a gold industry in automobile industry. It means after the sale of the automobile, the industry provides a series of service around the automobiles in the process of use.The automotive aftermarket can mainly be divided into 7 parts: auto insurance industry, auto finance industry, auto IT industry, auto maintenance industry, which refers to auto boutique, auto goods, auto beauty, as well as quick repair and modification industries; auto maintenance and parts industry, auto culture and sports industry, second-hand auto and auto leasing industry. Compared to foreign developed and mature auto markets, the auto aftermarket is still an industry with huge development potential. In the sales revenue of foreign mature auto market, the parts account for 39%; the manufacturers account for 21%; the retail accounts for 7%, and the services account for 12%. The data shows the proportion of manufacturing in China's sales revenue is too large, while the proportion of services is too small. On December 12, 2011, The Commerce Department officially released "Twelfth Five-year" Development Guidance on Promotion Automobile Circulation Industry. The Guidance pointed out, during the "Twelfth Five-year" Plan period, the concentration of automobile circulation area should be further enhanced. The turnover of top 100 retail enterprises should account for more than 30% of the total turnover. Meanwhile, cultivate 30 regional automobile circulation enterprises which main business should surpass 10 billion Yuan, and 3-5 large-scale enterprises with total asset of more than 100 billion Yuan.

According to statistics from China Automobile Dealers Association, the market size of domestic auto aftermarket has reached 300 billion Yuan since 2010, with a year-on-year increase of about 25%. It's predicted it will increase to approximately 490 billion Yuan in 2012. In recent years, due to the fast growth of China car inventory, the market space of auto aftermarket keeps expanding. Compared to the 1:1.5 market share proportion of foreign vehicle manufacturing and aftermarket, China auto aftermarket is also far from being able to match the development of the vehicle market, and it has considerable development potential. With domestic market gradually getting maturer and maturer, the auto industry chain becomes longer and longer. Thus China auto aftermarket will usher in a high-speed development period.
