The decoration industry is an industry which separates from jewelry and crafts & gift industries then combine them together to form a new one. With the development of economic society, after satisfying the basic living demand people begin to follow the fashion and individuality. It promotes the development of the new industry. According to related statistics, currently there are more than 4,500 decoration corporations in Guangdong, over 8,800 in Yiwu and about 4,000 in Qingdao. And there are numerous of decoration corporations in other places. Three major fashion decoration clusters—Guangdong, Yiwu and Qingdao—have formed the basic industry structure. Yiwu is named by China’s light industries as “industrial and trading hometown of fashion decoration in China”. In the aspect of decoration industrial chain, many places form their related specialty industries basing on their own resources advantages. For example, Wuzhou, Guangxi is regarded as “hometown of artificial gemstone in the world”; Zhuji, Zhejiang is regarded as “town of pearl in China”; and Pujiang, Zhejiang is regarded as “town of synthetic quartz in China”, etc. These specialty industry bases integrate with China’s three fashion decoration clusters, and initially form the production structure of China decoration industry.

The decoration sales models in big cities are mainly direct-sale stores, franchise stores and small-sized decoration shop while in medium and small cities are mainly flower shops and gift shops due to the limitations of income level and other factors. Products selling in flower shops and gift shops are ordinary and lower-grade decorations. However, the development of the second and third tier cities in China will promote the decoration consumption and make it in the same level of big cities. It is a scare opportunity for decoration corporations.

According to the research of China female decoration market which is done by authorized institutes in mainland China, the average female decoration market share in China is less than 5% while it is 98.2% in Japan, 68% in Thailand, 54% in H.K. China, 48% in Singapore and 47% in Malaysia. It is predicted by experts that the female decoration market share in China will increase from 7% at this moment to over 55% in 2012. And another data shows that there are about 500 million female who pay attention to decoration consumption among the 1,300 million populations in China.
